It is assumed that the name has been given after copying the name of the land in Goryeo Dynasty age.It is also called mountain Manno and Iheul,
and the height is 611m. |
Line Jooneung is a borderline dividing Chuncheongbuk-do
and Chungcheongnam-do, and at the apex of the mountain,
there was Janseung(statue) designed by Artist Choi Yang-ho.
The statue is in a shape of the Chinese "Mae san(mountain)"
and it symbolizes the highest mountain in Jincheon.
The first route of the mountain starts at Hassomoon,
Daemoon-ri, Baekgok-myeon. If you turn right at Hasoomoon,
there comes Julgol and after 40 minute hiking along
the valley ridgeline, it is the peak of the mountain.
At the peak, there is a helicopter port and there is
a triangle point built in 1984. Within the sight of
vision, Yeongok reservoir and mountain Monggak(403m)
are prospected. A descent from the mountain is from
the apex to the east side through 540 peaks and it runs
towards Yeongok-li and north Yeongokji.
The mountain descends towards Boryun town in Yeokgok-li
in north and it crosses the helicopter port at the peak
of the mountain. If one comes down along the ridgeline
and arrive at Bisungol, there are Jincheon Yeongok-li
stone monument(treasure 404) and Botapsa unification
tower. When you descend from the mountain, there is
a Yeongokji and Yeongokji is a very famous place for
Winter ice fishing. After walking down the small road
for 40 minutes, you can reach the birthplace of Kim
Yu-sin and it takes about 3 hours and 20 minutes.
The second route for hiking is Boryun town in Yeongok-ri. If one walks up to the left side of the town, one would
pass by Chonsu Tower and Kido site. It is the peak when
following the main ridgeline. The mountain descends
towards the northeast direction through 540 peaks and
it runs along Northeast ridgeline. The hiking route
is 7.5㎞ and it only takes about 2 hours and 40 minutes. |
