Jincheonnonggyo is a beautiful stone bridge over Segumcheon, running in front of Gulti village in Gugok-ri Munbaek-myeon. It’s also called Nongdari.
It’s recorded in Sangsanji that the bridge was built by General Lim in 1932 during the early Goryeo Dynasty. Applying 28 constellations, the bridge has 28 piers.
The red stones were accumulated to build fish scale-shaped piers, and flat stones were placed on the top of the piers. This bridge is in the shape of piers. The stones were accumulated with stones interlocked together, and lime was not used to fill the empty space between the stones. The width between the piers features consistent intervals in the range of 4m or 6m, and the width and the thickness get narrower at the top.
This is a very unique structure. It has remained sturdy and has not been washed away in the rainy seasons. Flat stones with beautiful patterns were specially selected.
